Bait and Boat Festival - Cancelled

 Sunday, September 12 from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Bring your own canoe, kayak, rowboat, or other non-motorized boat, fishing gear, a picnic, and join the Friends of High Point State Park on the beach for a day of fishing and boating on Lake Marcia and stay for an evening campfire. This is the one day of the year when non-motorized boats are permitted on this lake and there will be activities throughout the day for the whole family. Stop by any time and stay as long as you like!
1:00 to 4:00 PM - Fishing Contest
2:00 PM - Boat Races
3:00 PM - Nature Paddle/Walk
4:00 PM - Fly Fishing Demo.
4:00 PM - Boat Craft
6:00 PM - Campfire (with s'mores!) begins
6:30 PM - Sing Along and Storytelling

  • Bring beach chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, fishing gear, canoes, kayaks, rowboats and your friends!
  • The concession stand will be open throughout the day.
  • Anyone over the age of 15 will need a NJ fishing license to fish.
  • Parking is in the beach parking lot. You may find it easier to put in boats at the north end of the lake.

This event is free of charge, but donations are appreciated. Proceeds support future Friends of High Point State Park programs and events. The Friends of High Point State Park is a not-for-profit organization that supports historical, scientific, educational, recreational, and natural resource management activities within the Park.
