Pretty in Pink

Even on a densely foggy, drizzly morning, spots of color can be found at High Point.
Pink ladies slipper, a showy orchid that grows well in the dry upland forests along the Kittatinny Ridge, has begun to bloom.

And the red flowers that warmed the tips of the maple branches last month have matured into vivid pink samaras, winged seeds typical of maple trees.
