High Point Discovery Packs

Come spend the day at High Point and borrow a Discovery Pack to make your explorations more fun.

What's a Discovery Pack?
High Point's Discovery Packs contain items like nets, magnifiers, bug boxes, crayons, and much more! You can borrow a pack, library book-style, and use it to explore and discover while visiting High Point State Park.

What can we do with the Pack?

When you check out a pack you will also receive a "Discovery Pack Guide" that is full of fun outdoor activity ideas for things to do with the items in the pack (and without them). If you'd like to look over the guide ahead of time, a digital version can be found here.

Who can borrow a Pack?

Any adult with a child between the ages of four and ten.

How do we borrow a Pack?
Stop by the Interpretive Center when it is open and sign one out OR email highpointprograms@gmail.com to reserve a pack and set up a time to pick it up. If staff is available we'll be happy to accommodate you.

During the summer months the Interpretive Center is open Fridays from 1 to 4 PM, Saturdays from 1:30 to 5 PM, and Sundays from 12 to 5 PM. Additionally, staff may be available at other times to loan packs Wednesday through Sunday.

Is there a cost?
The standard summer parking fees are in effect ($5 weekdays/$10 weekends), but there is no additional cost for the pack. However, you may be held responsible if any items are missing or seriously damaged when the pack is returned.
